Canon PowerShot SD980 IS / Digital IXUS 200 IS reviews

A compact ultra-wide zoom Canon digicam.
Canon seem to have abandoned the metal case approach for their permium (SD) compact cameras series, but this is not so terrible. The SD980 is made of plastic but still feels very solid and reliable.
Pros:
+ Wide angle lens
+ Build quality
+ Nice LCD screen
+ As responsive as compact cameras get
Cons:
- Telescopic end of the zoom isn't that narrow (120mm equivalent)
- Image quality under dim lighting conditions isn't great (not worse than other compact P&S though)
Make no difference:
= Lack of optical viewfinder. Who needs it? the LCD does just fine.
= Touch screen. No more than a toy feature at this stage, IMO. Perhaps in a couple of years Canon will make it better/more useful.
